Land Writes is an evening of bold new writing exploring the urgent question of what land means in the modern world. Six writers respond to this theme through a series of powerful ten-minute plays, each offering a unique perspective on belonging, borders and identity.
The evening features work from five emerging playwrights and one established writer, each responding to the theme of land. The programme includes Rachel Mae Brady, Afsaneh Gray, Soria Hamidi, Sami Abu Wardeh, Kevin Shen, alongside Zia Ahmed. Together they form an international cohort of artists whose perspectives reflect the many ways that land can shape identity, history, conflict and community.
